Our Story

The Story of Glengarriff Golf Club

Nestled in the heart of West Cork, Glengarriff Golf Club features a scenic 9-hole course that challenges golfers of all skill levels. Our breathtaking views and meticulously designed holes create a unique blend of nature and sport, making each round memorable.

Established in 1934 the club has deep roots in the local community as well as a growing country membership. The clubhouse situated a mere 2.5km from the vibrant tourist village of Glengarriff was opened in 1989 by the late Hollywood film star Maureen O’Hara. Maureen like many other visitors to the area discovered an immediate connection to the stunning surroundings. She was very active in supporting the local community and helped to establish the ‘Maureen O’Hara Festival of Golf’, the longest running golf classic in Ireland. Visitors are always welcome. Our Captains Jim Coyle & Ka Bilous are committed to delivering an action packed golfing year for all of our members, guests and visitors. We really hope that you enjoy the experience of our wonderful course and facilities.

We proudly serve a diverse clientele, including local residents and international visitors alike. Our welcoming environment encourages golfers from all backgrounds to enjoy the charm and challenge of our course.
